Brethren,
Greetings in the lovely name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. To say that things have been busy the last few weeks would an incredible understatement, but we are so excited to see all the things the Lord has been and is doing here in Papua New Guinea.
While technically Highlands Baptist Bible Institute was on a three week break between semesters, these weeks resembled nothing like a break as we were busier than ever with the many ministry opportunities.
As soon as exams where finished for this semester, we were blessed to have a part of a three-day missions conference at Temple Baptist Church here in Mount Hagen. I was honored to be asked to preach 2 morning sessions, and then had the great privilege to translate for Pastor Gerry Nable from Bethany Baptist Church in Manilla during the evening sessions. God blessed and the brethren here were greatly encouraged to do more towards the work of global missions.
The week following, we were excited to have a six-day tent meeting in Kelua. This is the area where we have been going every Sunday and holding services. Many people came from the community and heard the gospel preached. It was a blessing to see the Christians in the area come together to provide music, transportation, testimonies, and hard work to set up and take down the tents. During this meeting, we were excited to see three people call on the Lord to save them!!
Since the meeting, we have seen quite a few folks from the community show a further interest in God’s word. Another lady has been saved during our Sunday services, and quite a few more are under obvious conviction. Please continue to pray for souls to be saved, and for the new Christians to grow in their new life in Christ. This month, we will be starting a Wednesday prayer meeting to begin some discipleship lessons for the new believers. Please pray with us for God to bless this new meeting.
The Lord has also begun to open doors for us in other areas of Papua New Guinea. The first week of August, I was blessed to preach for 2 churches in the city of Lae. Also, I was invited to preach for 2 churches in the capital city, Port Moresby, on the last Sunday of August. The Lord greatly moved in these services, and we were honored to be invited to come back to both of those cities later this year for special meetings. Please continue to pray for God to allow us to be the proper help and blessing to our brethren in other regions of this country.
Lastly, we would like you all to prayerfully consider partnering with us in a future investment for the ministry here in Papua New Guinea. We would like to purchase a large tent to be used for future gospel meetings and church gatherings. There are many places around the country that need the gospel and a tent is a great way to reach folks. Many people are apprehensive to come to a church building of a different denomination, but a tent offers a wonderful neutral venue for folks to come and hear God’s word.
We have contacted a number of tent companies, and a tent large enough to accommodate our needs will be approximately $29,000. This price is approximate because it includes the cost of shipping which fluctuates based on customs fees and currency exchange. If you or your church family would like to give towards this project, please designate your gift as “Seremak Ministry Tent.” Thank you and may the Lord bless you all for your generosity and investment in the work here in Papua New Guinea.
To God Be the Glory,
Kenneth Seremak and Family
