Brethren,
Greetings in the lovely name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It has been a little longer than normal since our last prayer letter, but it has taken us a little bit of time to settle back in here after our 2 months visit to the states.
We greatly enjoyed our short time in the US visiting family, and a few of our supporters, and our home church, Calvary Baptist Church in Beaufort, SC. It was great to catch up with old friends and to also get the opportunity to meet the many new folks who have joined the church while we were gone.
Our journey back home to Mt. Hagen was adventure as we dealt with delays and missed flights, but we were so glad to finally make it back and get settled back in here. We only had few rodents try to move in while we were gone and after a few days of cleaning, we finally got everything in order. We are currently fighting some sort of sickness, so we ask that you pray for everyone’s speedy recovery as we have much coming up in the next few weeks.
In our last update, I mentioned the salvation of a wanted criminal by the name of Peter. He came to see me as soon as we arrived back in PNG and was very excited to share with me all the things that the Lord has been showing him through his Bible reading. It was a great blessing to see him so excited about what God is doing for him. Peter and his family invited us to come and spend time with them last weekend in his village (Kelua) and we had a great time. The kids swam in the river, we enjoyed the fresh fruits, and we had a great opportunity to sit and give the gospel to his entire family.
This week, I was invited to come meet with the leaders of Kelua, and they asked if we would start to come and preach to the entire village on Sunday afternoons. Please be praying for God to do a great work in this place and for souls to be saved.
In March, we will be starting our second year of Highlands Baptist Bible Institute. We have invited Bro John Allen, missionary in Port Moresby, to come and be the main speaker for our school year kickoff meeting again this year on March 6th, 7th, and 8th. Bro John will be preaching the three evening sessions and the local pastors will speak during the morning sessions. Please be praying for this meeting and for the folks who will be traveling in for this time.
Our school year will start on March 11th, and I will be teaching Old Testament Survey, Rightly Dividing, 2 Corinthians, The doctrine of the Holy Spirit, and the Book of Acts. We are excited to see what God has in store for us this year.
Lastly, please continue to pray for the Scott Back family as they prepare to join us here in Mount Hagen. They will running the Mount Hagen Missionary Guesthouse, while working with us here to establish and grow the work here in Mount Hagen. Their visa paperwork has been submitted and they are simply waiting on an approval in order to buy tickets to fly out to Papua New Guinea. Please pray for their family as they start this new chapter of their lives on the mission field.
To God Be the Glory,
Kenneth Seremak and Family
