Short Ministry Update and Truck Purchase
We are so very excited to see the Lord continue to open doors here for us here in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea, and we are humbled to see the Lord increase the work and use us in so many ways. Over 55 students are currently enrolled in our Bible Institute, and we will hold our first graduation in December of this year. Last term, we had quite a few young men and women enroll in our Institute, and are blessed to see them dig into their academic studies and join in the various outreach endeavors in our area. Multiple tent meetings are on the schedule for this upcoming year in Western Highlands as well as a few other neighboring provinces. Many of these locations have preachers who are laboring to establish a Bible-believing/gospel-preaching church, but so many other locations are completely without a gospel witness. We also continue to scout out various areas to hold future meetings and outreach efforts in the days to come. The new work in Kelua is also doing great as we rejoice to have secured of a parcel of ground to put a permanent structure for the church, and we are making plans to begin holding services there full-time this year. We are currently working on fencing the property and will begin installing toilet facilities and a small church building shortly after this fence in completed. We have also been blessed with an open door to teach Bible classes in the primary school in Kelua every week. The headmaster(principal) is thrilled to see the effect these classes are having on the students and he has asked us to take the lower grades as well in the next term (we are currently teaching grades 8,7 &6)…He has also decided to allow us to begin holding a weekly bible study/devotion with the 50+ teachers and school staff employed at the school. While these many ministry opportunities are an incredible blessing, as a result of these open doors, a new need has also arisen for a vehicle. A large truck (Pictured below) would be ideal to transport our tents for the many meetings we have scheduled as well as the building materials for our various building projects. This vehicle would also be a great help in transporting our preachers/teachers to our various as well as picking people up for church services. We are currently in the process of selling an old pickup truck that has “fallen short” of the needs we have, but the proceeds from this sale will only cover about 1/4 of the cost of this new vehicle. The new truck will cost approximately $27,000, so if you or your church family would like to contribute to this project, please designate your funds for “Seremak Special Fund” and send the funds to: Word for the World Baptist Ministries P. O. Box 849 Rossville, GA 30741-0849. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support, Kenneth Seremak and Family Serving in Papua New Guinea |
